Lambswool Knitwear - Ultra-Warm and Ultra-Sophisticated

In these times of mass production and cheap and cheerful manufacturing processes, it seems the clothing stores are awash with synthetic garments. They're inexpensively made and are often shoddy and unlikely to last very long. In our modern, throwaway society, it sometimes feels like there's no place left for top quality, traditional apparel.

Thankfully, there are still plenty of luxurious garments out there, made with natural fibres and using time-honoured, traditional methods of manufacturing. In recent years, more and more people are turning against the tide of artificial clothing, and re-discovering the beauty and practicality of fine fibres and distinctive designs.

Materials such as tweed, Cashmere and silk have been enjoying a renaissance of late, and it's not hard to see why. Synthetic materials have a lifeless and inflexible feel to the skin; they don't respond to temperature change and weather conditions in the same way that natural fibres always do.

Lambswool is a wonderfully soft, supremely warm material. It's incredibly good at retaining the heat of the body, and resisting the winter chills. When the icy winds start to blow, it's imperative that the body is well insulated. With artificial clothing, the body's warmth just disappears through the garment.

As well as keeping the body wonderfully warm, lambswool knitwear is famous for being one of the most comfortable materials known to man. It adapts to the contours of the body, and maintains its shape and feel for many years. After dozens and dozens of washes, it feels just as fresh and new as it did in the store.

The fleeces are taken from lambs from around seven months, ensuring a softness that can't be found from adult sheep. The fibres are made into the very softest and most luxurious wool on the market, which is then used to produce the finest quality clothing. Men and women of all ages and all sizes will be delighted with the range on offer.

The classic v-neck lambswool sweater is a wonderful example of uncomplicated brilliance. As the saying goes, it does exactly what it says on the tin. It's the ultimate in comfort and style, and looks and feels equally good when worn over a shirt or directly next to the skin. A contrasting, plain t-shirt underneath is a highly fashionable look at the moment.

The round, or crew, neck is also rightly popular. Named after members of a rowing team, or crew, it has a trendy, but traditional, look. Sweaters are perfect for any occasion, whether indoors or outdoors, formal or informal, winter or summer.

Cardigans are becoming more and more in vogue nowadays, and look great with any outfit. Lambswool scarves, close to the neck, are perfect for cold nights, and can be worn a little more loosely when the temperature climbs a degree or two.

Woolly hats offer exceptionally good protection from the cold. It's well-known that most of the body's heat is lost through the head, so choosing the right headgear is a must for the winter months.
